摘要: ABSTRACT Antimicrobial susceptibility testing was performed on 3627 isolates of Escherichia coli and 180 Shigella spp. collected in rural locations from 875 Egyptian children with diarrhoea between 1995 2000. The cumulative rates resistance for E. were high (respectively, 68.2% 54.8% ampicillin, 24.2% 23.5% ampicillin-sulbactam, 57.2% 42.5% trimethoprim- sulphamethoxazole, 50.9%and 75.4%for tetracycline). Non-enterotoxigenic (NETEC) had a consistently higher level antimicrobial than did enterotoxigenic (ETEC) isolates. Trend showed significant decreases to ampicillin-sulbactam tetracycline among all Increasing observed sulphamethoxazole ETEC spp., but not NETEC Low levels other agents tested. Overall, levels, decreasing trends, commonly used detected Egypt.
