摘要: This is a library based study on data compression for multimedia computing. Multimedia information needs large storage capacity as they contain vast amount of data. would mean be out reach most computer users their PCs not able to store the enormous accumulated such programs. However, it necessary keep these in its original form there are techniques that could compressed more manageable level. Therefore, main objective this provide availability enable PC opportunity use The review related literature reveals two basic available - lossless and lossy. Under technique, Huffman Coding, Arithmetic Coding Lempel-Ziv Welch discussed. On other hand, Predictive, Frequency Oriented Importance are discussed under lossy technique. Besides techniques, Hybrid JPEG, MPEG Px64 also In order bind the discussion between media, description popular media magnetic disk optical disc included. Although secondary source, writer uses formula derived from Howard Vitter (1992) measure efficiency. Based collection analysis found different types (text, audio, video etc.)should using obtain ideal ratio quality. Although believes obtained sufficient show best data, he real experiment software application hardware would give better precise results.
