摘要: OBJECTIVE: To assess the association of weight cycling with change, control practices, and bulimic behaviors. METHODS: A nested study 2476 young middle-aged women in Nurses' Health Study II who provided information on intentional losses between 1989 1993. SAMPLE: In total, 224 were severe cyclers, 741 mild 967 age- BMI-matched controls (noncyclers), 544 did not cycle maintained their 1993 completed a questionnaire 2000–2001 assessing recent losses, concerns. RESULTS: After controlling for age body mass index (BMI) 1993, when was initially assessed, cyclers gained an average 6.7 pounds (lbs) more approximately 10.3 lbs than noncyclers 2001. Weight preferred to change diet rather exercise weight. Severe less likely use frequent as strategy (odds ratio [OR]=0.8, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.6–1.1). Cyclers also engage binge eating (mild cyclers: OR=1.8, CI 1.4–2.4; OR=2.5, 1.7–3.5). Independent status, age, BMI, engaged 5 lbs peers (P<0.001). CONCLUSIONS: associated greater gain, physical activity, higher prevalence eating. Low levels activity may be partially responsible large amount regained by cyclers.
