摘要: Countdown timers display the time left on current signal, which makes drivers be more ready to react phase change. However, previous related studies have rarely explored effects of countdown timer driver's brake perception-reaction (BPRT) yellow light. The goal this study was therefore characterize and model BPRT signal at signalized intersections with without timer. data for "first-to-stop" vehicles after onset within transitional zone were collected through on-site observation six in Harbin, China. Statistical analysis showed that observed 15th, 50th, 85th percentile BPRTs 0.52, 0.84, 1.26s, respectively. 0.32, 1.20, 2.52s, Log-logistic distribution appeared best fit timer, while Weibull seemed After that, a accelerated failure (AFT) duration developed whereas AFT established Three significant factors affecting identified both models included yellow-onset distance from stop line, approach speed, deceleration rate. No matter whether presence or not, increased as line rate increased, but decreased speed increased. impairment due increase rate, decrease speed. An because may induce risky driving behaviors (i.e., abruptly, even violate traffic signal), revealing weakness safety aspect.
