摘要: From 1971 to 1984 at the University of Rochester Medical Center, 23 adult patients underwent surgical treatment via an anterior approach for pyogenic vertebral osteomyelitis. Data from 21 with greater than 2-year follow-up is presented in this report. Surgical debridement was performed all patients. Bone grafting iliac crest or rib strut done 19 Clinical averaged 4 years, a range 2 years 9 months. No patient had recurrence All neurologic deficits recovered without functional motor sensory deficits. Of grafted, 18 showed roentgenographic evidence fusion, and one went on pseudarthrosis. In selected osteomyelitis requiring treatment, primary bone conjunction appropriate antibiotics successful treating promoting osseous fusion high percentage cases.
