摘要: A design for a scanning tunneling microscope that is well suited electrochemical investigations presented. The construction of the ensures only tip and sample participate in reactions. also allows rapid replacement or sample, enables facile introduction auxiliary electrodes use experiments. utilizes stepper motor driven approach mechanics order to achieve fully remote operation allow reproducible coarse control tip/sample spacings Highly ordered pyrolytic graphite images at atomic resolution air aqueous solutions can be obtained with this microscope.
