摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter focuses on the electronic spectroscopy of adsorbed gas molecules. The purpose an investigation spectrum molecule is twofold: (1) to deduce from spectral changes perturbations experienced by it in surface field and (2) obtain information about nature active sites, supplementing that heterogeneous chemical kinetics. inherent difficulty interpretation noticed resides they are a resultant two influences, affecting differently levels implied photon absorption. ground level vibronic level, which attained vertical Franck–Condon optical transition, represent molecular species different reactivity toward perturbation. Useful decisive can be obtained same when dissolved solvents possess definite functionality.
