Repair of damaged multiple leaf masonry: Assessment by the acoustic emission technique

摘要: Most historic centers in Italy are characterized by the presence of monumental buildings like churches and palaces, also a diffused built environment which itself constitutes an important part cultural heritage. The problem safety these masonry constructions started to attract increasing attention after sudden collapse ancient monuments happened last decades. In this work experimental research has been carried out on three-leaf walls, using two stones different characteristics trying reproduce typologies frequently used Italian centres. Aim was understand stress-strain behavior under compression shear actions find suitable repair techniques. application Acoustic Emission technique (AE), gave possibility interpret damage mechanisms evaluate effectiveness interventions, contributing determination most methodology for their optimisation.
