摘要: Exposure to UV-B radiation can cause stress in plants Solar (280 315 nm) has long been recognized as being potentially damaging living organisms. Indeed, the literature on plant effects for decades dominated by reports mediated stress, including growth retardation, macroscopic injuries and oxidative damage (Caldwell et al., 1994; Searles 2001). These negative comprise genetic material (formation pre-mutagenic cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers [CPD] [6-4] pyrimidinone dimers), photosynthetic performance (in-tandem degradation of D1-D2 core proteins photosystem II, inactivation RUBISCO, altered stomatal function) a range other cellular targets (see Jansen 1998; 2001; Jordan 2002; Rozema 2005; Jenkins, 2009). In this issue Lidon al. (2012a) review our current understanding deleterious photosynthesis. is paralleled formation lipid peroxidation products such malondialdehyde (MDA) (Hideg 2003; Ramalho, 2011) increased oxidation antioxidants glutathione (Kalbin 1997), both which reflect character UV-caused conditions. Consistently, UV-induced ROS have measured using EPR spin trap reporters leaves Vass, 1996) isolated thylakoids (Lidon 2012b) exposed high doses UV-B.
