摘要: The purpose of this monograph was to propose a framework, family interactional theory, for explaining the psychosocial aspects adolescent drug use. Three themes are stressed: (a) extension developmental perspectives on use, (b) elucidation (especially parental) influences leading and (c) exploration factors that increase or mitigate adolescents' vulnerability We present model with two components; first deals pathways second incorporates childhood factors. tested in studies: one cross-sectional study 649 college students their fathers, longitudinal 429 children mothers. subjects were given self-administered questionnaires containing scales measuring personality, family, peer variables outlined model. results each supported hypothesized model, some differences between parental influences. also found individual protective (e.g., conventionality, parent-child attachment) could offset risk use) enhance other factors, resulting less marijuana Implications findings prevention treatment, future research, public policy discussed.
