摘要: Pulse compression radar is used in a great number of applications. Excellent range resolution and high electronic counter-countermeasures performance achieved by wideband long pulses, which spread out the transmitted energy frequency time. By using random noise waveform, ambiguity suppressed as well. In most applications, signal directly from noise-generating microwave source. A sine wave, phase or modulated noise, an alternative, this paper, function statistical characteristics correlation output for latter configuration are further analyzed. Range then improved because bandwidth carrier wider than that modulating signal, sidelobes also suppressed. Random biphase modulation gives 4-dB (/spl pi//sup 2//4) improvement, but much higher sidelobe suppression could be continuous phase/frequency modulation. Due to randomness integral accompanied floor, limits possible determined time-bandwidth product. synthetic aperture (SAR) applications with distributed targets, product should large compared elements inside antenna main beam. The advantages low enhanced make frequency/phase-modulated attractive many including SAR mapping, surveillance, altimetry, scatterometry. Computer algorithms reference delay discussed replacements classical line implementation.
