摘要: As polyphenolic compounds isolated from plants extracts, flavonoids have been applied to various pharmaceutical uses in recent decades due their anti-inflammatory, cancer preventive, and cardiovascular protective activities. In this study, we evaluated the effects of flavonoid quercetin on Crotalus durissus terrificus secretory phospholipase A2 (sPLA2), an important protein involved release arachidonic acid phospholipid membranes. The was chemically modified by treatment with quercetin, which resulted modifications secondary structure as evidenced through circular dichroism. addition, able inhibit enzymatic activity some pharmacological activities sPLA2, including its antibacterial activity, ability induce platelet aggregation, myotoxicity approximately 40%, but not reduce inflammatory neurotoxic sPLA2. These results suggest existence two sites protein, one that is correlated site another distinct it. We also performed molecular docking better understand possible interactions between Our data showed hydrogen-bonded, polar hydrophobic interactions, suggesting other similar structures could bind Further research warranted investigate potential use sPLA2 inhibitors.
