摘要: Globally, aquaculture industries involved with commercial culture of kingfish (Seriola spp.) experience outbreaks monogenean parasites, which can cause heavy stock losses. In Australia and New Zealand, aquaculturists Seriola lalandi incur financial losses caused by two species: Benedenia seriolae Zeuxapta parasitise the skin gills, respectively. This study provides information on some basic temperature-dependent life-cycle parameters these problematic monogeneans S. lalandi. Hatching times age at maturity were inversely related to water temperature within range experienced wild in Zealand (13-21 degrees C). Mature B. vitro laid average 37 eggs/day that hatched over approximately 4 days; peak hatching occurred 9, 11 22 days post-deposition temperatures 21, 17.5 13+/-1.0 C, Z. 246 2 7, 9 15 respective temperatures. matured 20, 25 48 p.i. 18 13 C. 25, >52 same research describes stages reproductive development discusses inclusion parasitic into management strategies designed maximise treatment efficacy limit epizootics sea-cage culture.
