摘要: In active rift basins, tectonism is extremely important for sequence stratigraphic patterns, affecting both the architecture and internal makeup. Sequence framework of a Paleogene succession in Qiongdongnan Basin, northern South China Sea, was built using seismic profiles, complemented by well logs cores. One first-order three second-order sequences were identified on basis basin-scale unconformities, seven third-order are defined unconformities along basin margins correlative conformities within central basin. Through unconformity analysis backstripping procedure, synrift tectonic evolution deepwater area Basin proved to be episodic, which can divided into rifting stage-I, stage-II stage-III. Episodic resulted formation various types structural slope break belts, controlled different architectures makeup sequences. This study enhances understanding control patterns establishes relevant typical basin, further proposes favorable sandstone reservoirs developing will pretty helpful subtle pool exploration petroliferous basins.
