摘要: Abstract The popularity of X-ray based imaging methods has continued to increase in research domains. In wood research, micro-computed tomography (XμCT) is useful for structural studies examining the three-dimensional and complex xylem tissue trees qualitatively quantitatively. this study, XμCT made it possible visualize quantify spatial organization angiosperm species Fraxinus excelsior L. on microscopic level. Through image analysis, was determine morphological characteristics cellular axial (vessel elements, fibers, parenchyma cells) three-dimensionally. at high resolutions provides very distinct visual insight into structure. Numerical analyses performed through semi-automatic procedures quickly cell (length, diameter, volume cells). Use various (0.87–5 μm) revealed boundaries users should be aware of. Nevertheless, our findings, both qualitative quantitative, demonstrate a valuable tool studying morphology F. excelsior.
