摘要: Abstract The theory of cracks under longitudinal shear, as discussed in previous publications (1, 2, 3), is extended to bodies containing external cracks. It possible, by an adaptation the Schwartz-Christofel transformation, derive a general formula for finding stress-intensity factor, parameter governing onset rapid fracture Griffith-Irwin (4). Specific examples fundamental interest are solved closed-form. results useful predicting remaining strength structural members with crack-like imperfections.
