Frequency Selective Surface Using Nested Split Ring Slot Elements as a Lens With Mechanically Reconfigurable Beam Steering Capability

摘要: The design is described of a double layer frequency selective surface which can produce differential phase shift 180° as the wave propagates through it at normal incidence. hand an applied circularly polarized signal reversed due to shift, and demonstrated that exit output be advanced or retarded by upon rotation elements comprising structure. This feature allows act spatial shifter. In this paper beam steering capabilities 10 × array such are demonstrated. Here individual rotated relative each other in order generate progressive shift. At incidence 3 dB Axial Ratio Bandwidth for LHCP RHCP conversion 5.3% insertion loss was found -2.3 dB, with minimum axial ratio 0.05 dB. shown able steer from -40° +40° while holding pointing angle below 4 measured radiation patterns match theoretical calculation full-wave simulation results.
