摘要: Objective: In the setting of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) global pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2, a potential association this disease with stroke has been suggested. We aimed to describe characteristics patients who were admitted COVID-19 and had an acute ischemic (AIS). Methods: This is case series PCR-confirmed academic health system in metropolitan Atlanta (USA) between March 24th,2020, May 5th, 2020. Demographic, clinical, radiographic described. Results: Of 124 during study period, 8 (6.5%) also diagnosed COVID-19. The mean age was 64.3 +/- 6.5 years, 5 (62.5%) male, time from last-normal 4.8 days [SD 4.8], none received reperfusion therapy. All at least one stroke-associated co-morbidity. predominant pattern embolic; 3 explained atrial fibrillation while cryptogenic. contrast, cryptogenic strokes seen 20 (16.1%) total admissions time. Conclusions: In our series, affected traditional risk factors presentation typically non-COVID populations. observed predominantly embolic higher than expected rate prolonged median symptom recognition limiting use treatments. These results highlight need for increased community awareness, early identification, management AIS patients.
