摘要: The degree to which developmentally related alterations in cardiac creatine kinase (CK) activity reflect modification of CK isoenzyme gene expression remains uncertain. present studies addressed this question by assessing multiple aspects rat heart during the perinatal adult transition. In addition whole tissue, isolated and purified muscle nonmuscle cells were studied, as well myofibrillar, mitochondrial, cytosolic subcellular fractions. Whole homogenate enzyme specific nearly doubled weanling developmental period. Muscle cell increased a similar magnitude. Nonmuscle decreased. heart, both myofibrillar mitochondrial activities augmented versus heart. cytoplasmic fraction held constant development. Electrophoretic analyses indicated presence MM-CK isoforms. Weanling contained MM, MB, BB isoforms; however, isoform was not detected cells. Arrhenius plots provided information regarding activation energies also determined for muscle/nonmuscle cells, myofibrils, mitochondria, cytosol. Results demonstrate that heterogeneous cellular composition differential myofibrillar/mitochondrial account normal, changes activity. transition CK-B CK-M is limited development
