摘要: The structure of the lines arc spectrum rubidium was investigated with a reflexion echelon grating high resolving power, light source being tube containing helium neon mixture at about ½ mm. pressure and small quantity rubidium; this fitted external electrodes excited an oscillator very frequency. two resonance lines—7947 7800—were found to possess same fine structure, each possessed four components: 0·00, —0·09, —0·19 —0·23 cm.-1; outer components, 0·00 cm.-1, are weak inner components strong. 4215 4201 were three components; —0·09 —0·20 cm.-1. line latter point slightly broadened. This presumed correspond as that observed in lines, broadened corresponding unresolved. is explained arising from 5S1/2 level; outer, weak, isotope 87 separation into levels, 0·23 cm.-1 apart, while inner, stronger, arise other isotope, 85, similar 0·10 centre gravity levels Rb 85 displaced 0·02 87. Measurements on intensities show probable value for nuclear moment 3/2, but accuracy not sufficiently enable scarcer be determined certainty; is, however, 5/2. magnetic nucleus shown approximately half times great 85.
