摘要: We have recently reported that reversible electrowetting can be observed on the basal plane of graphite, without presence a dielectric layer, in both liquid/air and liquid/liquid configurations. The influence carbon structure wetting phenomenon is investigated more detail here. Specifically, it shown adsorption adventitious impurities graphite surface markedly suppresses response. Similarly, use pyrolysed films, although exhibiting roughness below threshold previously identified as barrier to does not give noticeable response, which leads us conclude specific interactions at water–graphite interface well crystallinity are responsible for response seen latter case. Preliminary experiments mechanically exfoliated chemical vapour deposition grown graphene also reported.
