摘要: This essay is a critique of Larry Lessig's book, Code and other Laws Cyberspace (Basic Books, 1999). It summarizes theory the four modalities regulation in cyberspace: code, law, markets, norms. applies this to topics privacy speech, illustrating how code can undermine basic rights or liberties. The review raises questions about role ethics model, it argues that ethical principles must be given privileged position any purports deal with shaping behavior cyberspace. Finally, proposes philosophy self-regulation instead an over-reliance on government policy certain improprieties negative externalities tend disrupt Net.
