Law and fisheries reform: Legislative and policy developments in South African fisheries over the decade 1994–2004

摘要: Abstract Following the enactment of Constitution in 1996, South African government undertook a process legal reform fishing sector. This led to publication new fisheries policy endorsing equity and sustainability, as reflected Marine Living Resources Act. paper examines efforts implement policy, particularly objective “transformation”, against background law over last decade. The discussion is located within context related domestic developments current trends international law. Methods for enhancing effective implementation are highlighted.
