摘要: Survey data for 7,000 firms in 28 countries Eastern Europe and Central Asia are used to examine the correlates of technology adoption proxied by ISO certification web use. Complementary inputs such as skilled labor, managerial capacity, research development, finance, good infrastructure shown be important adoption. The link between market incentives is more nuanced. While stronger consumer pressure significantly associated with adoption, competitor not, suggesting that developing economies where many input markets imperfect, it primarily rents able adopt new technology. Foreign-owned exhibit better outcomes, but privatized domestic owners do not.
