摘要: Objectives Although smoking is known to have a negative impact in patients with metabolic syndrome (MetS), only few studies examined the association between electronic cigarette (e-cig) use and MetS. Methods Among 22,948 participants 6th Korea National Health Nutrition Examination Survey, 14,738 (13,459 [91.3%] never, 954 [6.5%] ever, 325 [2.2%] current e-cig users) were selected. The relationship exposure MetS (based on Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel [NCEP-ATP] III criteria) was evaluated using multivariable logistic regression analysis. An unweighted analysis performed evaluate this without sampling weight. A subgroup among active smokers compare dual users never users. Results users, 85.0% 12.7% former 2.2% After adjustment for covariates, abdominal obesity hypertriglyceridemia significantly associated (odds ratio [OR]: 1.88, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.41–2.50 OR: 1.32, CI: 1.00–1.74 respectively [compared group]). Compared showed an OR of 1.27 (95% 0.96–1.70, Ptrend = 0.01) In analysis, 1.40 1.08–1.81, <0.01). higher (OR: 1.71, 1.25–2.34, <0.001). Conclusions Current increased risk Dual e-cigs cigarettes obesity. Further longitudinal better assessment type are needed clarify relationship.
