摘要: Lotka's law of scientific productivity is a bibliometric example: the number authors against contributions made by was plotted on logarithmic scale. The points were closely scattered around straight line having slope -2. purpose this study to apply information technology real-world data and quantify extent regularity that exists in literature dental science. We have analyzed index (PI) journal (Journal American Dental Association). Details total 4,088 papers published between 1966 1995 extracted electronically from MEDLINE. 5,589, responsible for 8,569 authorships. Only 0.8% presented PI > = 1 (large producers), 78.1% 0 (occasional authors). publishing N 1/N2.64 those one paper. result suggested repeated publications Journal more difficult than predicted Lotka (1/N2).
