摘要: We investigated the seasonal changes in abundance of coleopteran and hymenopteran functional groups to evaluate ecological suitability line thinning overstocked Japanese cedar plantations central Japan. In thinning, 3- 5-m-wide sections stand are harvested parallel mountain slope perpendicular forest roads. The intensity varies from 25 35% total number trees. compared between thinned unthinned (control) two plantation forests: a low-elevation Sugi site (4 years since thinning) high-elevation Kuchiotani (6 thinning). Most were consistently more abundant than stand. differences arthropod stands mainly caused by marked seasonally strongly changing during their peak seasons. predators parasitoids insects as well plant pollen feeders (plant-dependent groups) responded vegetation (food microhabitats) microclimate. ants less affected thinning. Our results indicate that is an ecologically suitable silvicultural treatment for improvement biodiversity conditions forests.
