摘要: To survive, cells have to avoid excessive alterations of their volume. Upon exposure anisotonic conditions most initially behave as osmometers and, thereafter readjust volume the initial value. Many cell types developed a complex machinery regulatory mechanisms comprising transport across membrane and/or metabolism. Because swelling or shrinking plays crucial role in overall regulation function, determinations play major biology. In this contribution application confocal laser scanning microscopy measurements is reviewed.
