摘要: ABSTRACT Background Dental recall interval protocols are used to prevent dental disease through regular maintenance evaluations and preventive procedures. In this systematic review, the authors examined evidence for rationale behind a “one-recall-interval-fits-all” protocol, such as six-month on caries incidence. Methods The searched PubMed database reviewed titles, abstracts full reports. They also references of each report “Related articles” feature. checklist validated randomized nonrandomized studies conduct quality assessment article. Results found seven articles representing six that met their inclusion criteria. results controlled trial showed no significant differences in oral health between patients recalled every 12 months those 24 months. investigators one reported two- three-month significantly reduced incidence recurrence caries. an additional longitudinal non-randomized study compared three-, six- 12-month intervals increments 4.4, 4.0 4.9, respectively. two retrospective specific did not alter significantly. from cross-sectional suggested was associated with more restored teeth but less active Conclusions conclude using one-recall-interval-fits-all protocol reduce weak. Studies addressed impact were methodologically strong enough support any all patients. Clinical Implications Using prevention should be re-evaluated. On basis trial, could extended years. Evidence other revealed conflicting efficacy protocol. Because these had serious threats validity, clinicians may wish consider assigning patients' risk developing However, discussion is beyond scope review.
