摘要: Primary liver cancer includes tumors derived from hepatocytes, bile duct epithelium, or mesenchymal tissue. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) onset is age dependent and currently observed in elderly cirrhotic patients. Liver cirrhosis leads to destruction consequent regeneration of the hepatic tissue, favoring development dysplastic nodules ultimately HCC; therefore, accounted as most main risk factor for HCC, followed by hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Nowadays surveillance programs adopted Western countries have allowed obtain early HCC diagnosis. The Barcelona Clinic Cancer (BCLC) staging system widely used algorithm specific treatment allocation prognostic prediction patients with HCC.
