摘要: Acute oesophageal necrosis (AON) is a rare condition characterised by the endoscopic finding of diffuse, circumferential, black mucosal pigmentation oesophagus, which typically stops at gastro-oesophageal junction. This observational study aimed to assess occurrence, clinical characteristics and outcomes AON in consecutive cohort single tertiary university centre. A retrospective analysis data upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (UGE) was carried out from 2008 2018. Out 25,970 UGE, 16 patients (0.06%) had AON; 75.0% were men with median age 75 years. Almost all underwent diagnosis during emergency UGE performed for bleeding, but one patient diagnosed elective persistent vomiting diarrhoea. All reported or more pre-existing comorbidities concomitant acute events. Two as first presentation Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (ZES). One developed an stenosis, another presented relapse AON. Mortality 50%, no died direct consequence cause bleeding mainly UGE. Our showed that ZES might manifest this critical presentation, endoscopists must be aware evidence.
