摘要: A large-format histology technique represents the most convenient method for documenting and assessing subgross morphological prognostic parameters of breast cancer (i.e., distribution tumor’s invasive in situ components, disease extent, tumor size), especially when used conjunction with systematic radiological–pathological correlation. Here we report a consecutive series 2033 carcinomas operated on Dalarna, Sweden, particular focus these parameters. We separately analyzed distributions components tumors then combined into an aggregate pattern both were present. found that 40% had simple (unifocal) morphology, while 60% complex morphology presenting multifocal or diffuse components. Extensive (occupying total volume tissue greatest dimension being ≥ 40 mm) more common cases, occurring 66% cases 88% compared only 5% unifocal cases. Compared luminal A–like tumors, HER2-expressing exhibited significantly larger extent. Triple-negative basal-like tended to have size (based largest focus). In this report, discuss impact necessity their correct assessment diagnostic routine.
