摘要: Increasing salinity has the potential to affect freshwater organisms. Yet sub-lethal effects of on macroinvertebrates are poorly understood. Growth and development Ischnura heterosticta (Odonata: Coenagrionidae) was experimentally shown be faster in 5-20 mS/cm than 0.1-1 mS/cm, while 35 all individuals died. In 30 about half died growth similar 0.1 treatment. The salinity-growth relationship cannot explained indirectly, that is affecting survival their prey. Tissue content concentration Ca, Mg, Na K emerged adults showed no evidence deficiencies at low salinity. Heart beat rate across treatments, except where it slower. Respiration feeding were 0.1, 10 mS/cm. While there similarities I. other species' response, differences studies more species urgently needed.
