摘要: The ability of two scented geraniums, Pelargonium sp. `Frensham' and `Citrosa' to tolerate accumulate salt was assessed in a hydroponic system under greenhouse conditions. Rooted cuttings were exposed range concentrations (0 200 mM NaCl) over two-week period. No visible signs phytotoxicity observed on geranium plants grown solutions up 100 sodium chloride. Tolerance exposure with chlorophyll fluorescence parameters. A significant decline the efficiency photosystem (Fv/Fm) observedin Frensham NaCl for 14 days. numberand size active reaction centers (Fv/Fo) declined increasing treatments both species. Total content species decreased treatmentas result reductions acontent. At higher levels chloride treatment, extrusion petioles leaf lamina. An accumulation excess 3.7 2.6% dry weight as shoots roots, respectively. effect accumulated physiology geraniums through biochemicalanalysis. determination amino nitrogen stress-relatedmarkers revealed an initial increase 4-aminobutyrate, proline, asparagine, glutamine, alanine root tissues. Shoot analysis showed gradual increases asparagine, aspartate, andalanine. These data provide first evidence tolerating accumulating potential demonstrate efficacy this plant remediation contaminated solutions.
