摘要: When OR/MS analysts develop a model, how are they intending this model to be used? There many different ways in which models may classified and one important categorisation is the intended use of model. Some for routine on frequent basis, with little or no human intervention. Others form part decision process provide support that process. Considering validation, data requirements, added value possible pitfalls leads theory based four categories: automation, support, investigation improvement, generating insights debate. A pilot an group demonstrates could basis empirical research into operational research. would academics, who prioritise their work, practitioners, place own work broader landscape.
