摘要: The purpose of this paper is to examine an apex institution microfinance operating according Sharia-compliant practices and its performance. After giving the background crisis, we provide evidence need for a more responsible industry. Thereafter, state Islamic around world in Arab focus on two existing institutions microfinance: conventional one – Social Fund Development (SFD) Yemen Sudan Microfinance Facility (SMDF). We conduct comparison based outreach final beneficiaries total outstanding loan portfolio. outcome our assessment, restricted limited data, shows that SMDF performs better than SFD suggesting have potentially greater impact. conclude by saying finance industry practitioners should make efforts towards developing space, as clients, they become bankable, will form basis loyal depositors mainstream financial institutions.
