One-step synthesis of methyl isobutyl ketone from acetone with calcined Mg/Al hydrotalcite-supported palladium or nickel catalysts

摘要: Abstract Calcined Mg/Al hydrotalcites (CHT) with various atomic ratios of were prepared and used as support. One-step synthesis methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) from acetone hydrogen at atmospheric pressure was investigated over Pd/CHT Ni/CHT catalysts. These catalysts showed high activities selectivities to MIBK, reaching 60–70% selectivity 35–40% conversion in some experiments. A temperature ca. 140°C sufficiently for the calcined hydrotalcite-supported catalyst assume basic properties good MIBK synthesis. The loading metal (or density sites) an important factor product distribution strong metal–support interaction exhibited these higher reduction (>500°C) needed considerable reactivity selectivities. played role behavior
