摘要: Analysis of urban dynamics is a pivotal step towards understanding landscape changes and developing scientifically sound management strategies. Delineating the patterns processes shaping evolution regions an essential part this step. Utilizing remote-sensing techniques Geographic Information System (GIS) tools, we performed integrated analysis on expansion in Srinagar city surrounding areas from 1999 to 2017 at multiple scales order assist planning initiatives. To capture various spatial indicators expansion, analysed (i) land use/land cover (LULC) changes, (ii) rate intensity built-up areas, (iii) differentiation metrics (at 500, 1000 2000 m cell-size), (iv) growth type expansion. Global Moran’s I statistics local association (LISA) were also employed identify hotspots change structure. Our methodology utilizes range geovisualization tools which are capable appropriately addressing elements required for strategic growing cities. The results highlight aggregation homogenization core as well irregularity fragmentation its periphery. A combination supports supposition that there continuum diffusion-coalescence process. This allows us extend our theory report deviations accepted stages growth. As show, each dominating phase city—both diffusion (1999) coalescence (2009 2017)—is interspersed with features other type. An improved identification can serve make more tailored such conditions. important insight derived applicability data measures usefulness freely available medium resolution gaining comprehensive
