摘要: This article reviews the effects of 2 calf rearing systems (weaning vs suckling) on milk production, composition, udder health and reproduction dairy cows buffaloes; body weight gain, intake, intake time, immune status, behaviour their calves. Restricted suckling increased yields to level 15 30% in purebred as well crossbred cows, lowered fat content reduced risk mastitis. Suckling post-partum interval until first heat due delayed post partum resumption ovarian activity. The suckled calves had general higher daily lower incidence abnormal behaviours, better status thus were more healthy compared weaned system may, therefore, be beneficial performance welfare mothers than artificial but may cause some economic losses estrus.
