摘要: The pathophysiology of inflammatory bowel disease is still incompletely understood. While the development immune system and establishment microflora take place during infancy young patients often have a more severe extensive disease. differences in composition concentration intestinal microbiota aberrant responses towards luminal bacteria prompted concept an 'ecological' approach to control course. Probiotics, living, non pathogenic micro organisms with beneficial effect on host, prebiotics, oligosaccharides promoting growth microflora, been studied this effect. Results so far disappointing for Crohn's but encouraging ulcerative colitis. An overview studies using probiotics adults or children perspective specific pediatric issues provided review.
