摘要: The need to discover and develop alternative therapies treat multidrug-resistant bacterial infections is timely. aim of this study was examine the antimicrobial potential propolis, as a purified concentrated special extract GH 2002, against clinical isolates Streptococcus pyogenes, methicillin-resistent Stapylococcus aureus (MRSA), vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VRE) Candida. Minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs) minimal microbicidial (MMCs) propolis microbial pathogens were evaluated using broth microdilution method. Propolis 2002 revealed low MICs in range 0.03 2 mg/ml S. aureus, E. A high bactericidal activity 0.06 1.0 determined for pyogenes however not faecium. between 0.6 2.4 displayed fungicidal different Candida species. Whereas all tested MRSA strains highly susceptible only minor found VRE strains. Time-kill curves demonstrated at already after few hours incubation reference strains, antibiotic-susceptible antifungal well but In conclusion, drug-sensitive some isolates, i.e. MRSA, with degrees susceptibility. These results suggest that GH2002 might be used development products therapy infections.
