摘要: This chapter reviews the recent polarisation of debates in agrofood and rural studies, particular opposition between network (social relations, actor-network) political economy analyses. It explores contributions different approaches draws on French convention regulation traditions, which provide alternative guidelines for confronting micro–macro tensions. Networks have similarly assumed analytical centrality new institutional economics subsequent elaborations Williamsonian transaction costs paradigm involved an approximation to some central tenets social analysis. Alternative traditions analysis (Global Value Chains (GVC), Global Production Networks) are now making important contribution studies.
