摘要: Imagery from remote sensing systems, often combined with ancillary ground information, is able to provide repetitive, synoptic views of key parameters characterizing land surface interactions, including energy fl uxes and soil moisture. Differing methodologies using a wide range data have been developed for this purpose. Approaches vary purely empirical more complex ones, residual methods those that their basis in the biophysical properties two-dimensional Ts/VI (surface temperature/ vegetation index) scatterplot domain derived observations. The present article aims offer comprehensive systematic review latter group methods, which differ terms complexity assumptions they entail as well requirement fi eld-based other data. Prior review, meanings encapsulated feature space elucidated, since these represent building block upon all described herein are based. overview also very timely, one such method being scheduled operational retrieval moisture content by National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System (NPOESS), series satellite platforms due be launched next 12 years starting 2016.
