摘要: Abstract Background Prevalence of obesity is growing worldwide, especially in the population adolescents with intellectual disability. Nevertheless, no study has focused on this problem France. The objective work was thus to body weight French preadolescents, and young adults disability schooled specialized institutions. Methods Four hundred twenty participants disability, aged 11 21, were included study. An epidemiological questionnaire built distributed 14 institutions where schooled. following participants’ characteristics collected: age, sex, level psychopathology, genetic disorder medication. International Obesity Task Force (IOTF) cut-off for World Health Organisation based mass index used define preobesity obesity. Data analysed t -tests, analysis variance Chi 2 tests. Results 30.2% overweight, including 9.5% exhibiting showed that: girls significantly more concerned by than boys; individuals Down's syndrome obese those without disorder; taking psychotropic medications who did not; difference prevalence could be identified regarding presence or not pervasive developmental disorders. Conclusion prevalences observed are clearly higher general population. This creates a supplementary handicap social inclusion Specialized should become aware recent development secondary illness.
