摘要: Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is a serious complication of mechanical ventilation leading to high morbidity and mortality among intubated neonates in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). Endotracheal tube (ETT) biofilm flora were considered be responsible for the occurrence VAP as reservoir pathogens. However, regarding with VAP, little known about complex microbial signatures ETT biofilms. In present study, culture-independent approach based on next generation sequencing was performed an initial survey investigate communities biofilms 49 without VAP. Our results revealed far more microflora from compared previous culture-based study. The abundance Streptococci significantly related onset By isolating biofilms, we found that enhanced formation common nosocomial pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 decreased IL-8 expression airway epithelia cells exposed conditioned medium PAO1. This study provides new insight into pathogenesis neonates. More studies focusing are warranted develop strategies address this important disease NICUs.
