The Impact of Private Schools on Educational Attainment in the State of São Paulo

摘要: This study uses a comprehensive dataset on secondary school students in Brazil to examine the impact of private enrollment educational attainment Sao Paulo. The results show that (across all levels tuition) perform better than their public counterparts Brazil’s high exit exam, even after reducing sample selection bias via variety propensity score matching models. Ultimately, author concludes significant achievement gains provided by low-fee and high-fee schools strengthen demand for schooling despite recent increases spending.
