摘要: Golden jackal ( Canis aureus ) is one of the top carnivores distributed in different habitats Cachar district, Assam (India). Survey was conducted three representative Barak Valley, (India), viz. Reserve Forest, Tea garden and unprotected forests from January to June, 2013 for estimation minimum population by both direct (sighting) indirect (howling active den) survey methods. From study, more number jackals were documented howling (n=89), followed sighting (n=22) den (n=14). Among 2 survey, density also found (1.85 per km (0.46 (0.29 ). In all areas sampled, species sighted. Highest individuals total sighted tea gardens (n=8) equally reserve forest (n=7) (n=7).
