Caregivers' perspective of school reintegration in children survivors of burns

摘要: Introduction: Pediatric burns are an important reason of treatment and hospitalization. Children victims may interrupt or even abandon school activities. The process reintegration this population has become a point attention. Aim: To analyze the caregivers’ perspective children survivors burns. Method: It is ethnographic study based on Interpretative Anthropology. After ethical committee approval, data were collected in burn unit at university hospital located interior state Sao Paulo, Brazil, children’s home schools, during 22 months. Caregivers school-aged invited to participate study. We defined school-age victim as child from six twelve years-old, enrolled not moment burn, caregiver family member who takes care most time. triangulated strategies for collection participant observation, in-depth interviews, field notes. Data analyzed using inductive thematic analysis hermeneutic circle. Results Discussion: A total fourteen caregivers participated; eleven mothers, two grandmothers one father. Eleven married living with partner, was divorced another widower. ages ranged 24 60 years old.
