Multicriteria Geologic Data Analysis for Mineral Favorability Mapping: Application to a Metal Sulphide Mineralized Area, Ribeira Valley Metallogenic Province, Brazil

摘要: GIS techniques have been used in the evaluation of favorability for base-metal mineralization an area comprising Cerro Azul and Apiai quadrangles (SG.22-X-B-IV V, scale 1:100.000), Ribeira Valley, Sao Paulo Parana States, Brazil. Methods employed selection weighting prospective variables when applying to a digital database consisting geological, geochemical airborne geophysics, mineral occurrence information. The exploration variable analysis were based on two models: (1) Panelas type, vein-type carbonate hosted, (2) Perau sedimentary-exhalative. overlay was performed by weighted linear combination (WLC) order average (OWA) methods. Both methods proved suitable study area, yielding similar results. ordered averaging provided best results, with maps showing large number classes occupying relatively minor areas. In comparison, produced more coherent results but without details parameters obtained are considered both types. inexpensive, areas during geological surveys studied one.
