摘要: In Bulgaria, chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra balcanica) are protected by law and it has been recommended to assess their genetic diversity, level of inbreeding, extent introgression Alpine (R. r. rupicapra) that were released in the last century Rhodope Mountains. Chamois (n = 81) collected between 2009 2013 at “Izvora State Hunting Reserve” (ISHR, western Rhodopes, a major source for translocations Bulgaria; census size: 200–250) screened allelic variability 12 microsatellite loci compared rupicapra, n 135) from six populations Austrian Alps. Indices significantly lower ISHR population than populations. A significant bottleneck signal was observed population, but no distinct inbreeding due non-random mating. F-statistics, absolute distances, Bayesian STRUCTURE assignment analyses, factorial correspondence analysis concordantly indicated differentiation chamois. identified some few as possibly introgressed ONeSAMP revealed effective size estimates Ne ≈ 50 population. reduction shooting quotas, reinforcement poaching control, exchanging with other Bulgarian should increase its prevent further loss variability. Screening be extended populations, particularly areas where past; accompany all translocations, possible dissemination
